Challenge: The organization wanted a brochure promoting seminars for parents of children with ADHD. The promotions coordinator also asked that the speaker’s credentials be highlighted to give parents confidence in the program.

Solution: I wanted the brochure text to have a supportive tone to parents which is why I chose to use “you” and “your” in the parent seminar text. Yet the tone remained professional throughout. I added the speaker’s introduction on the panel first seen when the brochure is opened per the organization request that his credentials be clear. I shortened his biography to highlight the work and credentials most connected to the seminars. I created bullet points for the seminar content to increase likelihood that it would be read all on one side of brochure. I listed the seminars again on the back panel so readers would see the names, dates, and times of the seminar even with the brochure closed.
